PLAYERS HEALTH now houses all your risk and coach requirement needs.

Demosphere and Player's Health have come together to enable single sign-on between the two systems. This means that you will use the same email and password to log into both systems.

CLICK HERE and 'Sign In with Demosphere'. It is very important to sign in using Demosphere so the platforms will connect and send information!

When logged into Player's Health, you will need to complete the following:

  • Sign the Infectious Disease Waiver
  • Complete a background check if not current - typically up to 5 business days to return
  • Complete SafeSport, either the full course if new or the refresher course if returning
  • Complete Concussion training if not current
  • Complete Lindsay's Law

Guides

Coaches and Club Admins can use the following help guides or contact our office with any questions.

SafeSport

NOTE: Coaches that have previously completed SafeSport training, they MUST be added (or register) with the same email address used to complete SafeSport in order for the system to identify them and their status.

Concussion_Training

For the time being, coaches and trainers will need to upload their CDC Heads Up or NFHS certificate into Player's Health.

A link to the CDC Heads Up training will be provided in Player's Health for those needing to take it again.

There is no change in cost for a background check - it remains at $18. Background checks are now run by JDP, who are partners with Player's Health. Every effort has been made to bring over current background check statuses from Stack, so if you completed a background check last season you should not have to purchase one.

SAFESPORT

SAFE SPORT

All coaches are required to complete the online Safesport course to be added to the team roster.

On February 14, 2018, (S.534) was signed into law. Click here for the U.S. Center for SafeSport's fact sheet about the legislation.

Online awareness/prevention training is available at no cost to OSYSA  Members and consists of three (3) training modules which include:

  • Sexual Misconduct Awareness Education
  • Mandatory Reporting
  • Emotional and Physical Misconduct

For more information on training and how to enroll, click here.

Safesport is a course that needs completed yearly.  The initial course is 2-3 hours.  You can stop and start as needed. If you previously completed the full course you will only need to take a 30 minute refresher course each year.

CONCUSSION COURSE

CONCUSSION

In order to protect young athletes, the State of Ohio passed a concussion law, commonly called the "Return to Play" law. This law, similar to laws enacted in most other states, imposes training, safety, and awareness requirements on youth sports organizations, like OSYSA, and its leagues, tournaments, coaches, referees, officials, and athletes and their families.

Each coach must receive concussion training prior to April 26, 2013, and that training must be renewed every three years. (See O.R.C. 3707.511 (C)(1).)

Coaches may choose training from either the Center for Disease Control (CDC) or the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Both programs are free of charge. The NFHS requires a user to login but allows leagues to track coaches progress and allows coaches to log in and print their certification should they require a new certificate.
